TOO MUCH JUNK IN THE TRUNK

Menopause is a world of ultimate extremes. It can create darkness where light once shone. And it’s hard, and confusing, and lonely. But it is, and it’s not going anywhere.

The niggling little voices of self-doubt, physical insecurity and brain fog is turn up to high frequency, and it’s loud in here. Unfortunately, it’s the same time in a woman’s life that the nagging BIG societal voices get louder. We’re too old, too fat, too slow, too unsexy, too tired, too anxious, too behind the times. We’re both too much – yet not enough?

We’re put out to pasture, and we’re marketed as a ‘different’ audience. We see it immediately in our algorithms – where there was once sexy lingerie, there’s lube. Where there was once concerts and raves, there’s knitting supplies (kidding – but you get the point). 

The voices, the words – they haunt, not heal. So let change them? Acknowledging they’re there is power unto itself, but we don’t have to always believe them.
But what if we started to flip the script? What if we claimed our scared feminine, leaned into the crone era, took control over our womanhood, and leaned in to the new now. What if this is our becoming? Our renewal? Our birth by fire. What if we claimed our divine right to be, to soar, to f*ck, to feel safe and sacred in our own bodies BECAUSE of the sagging bits, and the extra kilos. Because with all that comes knowledge, power, ancient wisdom.

And you know what else? We know what we like, what we want, and chances are we know how to get it. A woman that feels safe in her body, is one that knows how to soar.
