The Great Wave of Change
The Great Wave of Change
“The Great Wave of Change” is the dynamic between what is and what could be.
It is an energy in a constant state of turmoil. It can be the dynamic between creation and destruction – but not always. It is more often about the dynamic around what is, what is known and what is comfortable. A level of comfort causing inertia, resistance to change and preventing something new and perhaps, better, but certainly irrevocably changing what, IS. Whilst this image is depicted in a local Newcastle context, the dynamic is universal. “The Great Wave of Change “, is a universal and constant driving force.
I get frustrated seeing the possibility for “better”, being prevented.
This work on paper is an evolution of an existing concept that was created using “Clip2Comic”. It was further developed adding additional media. It is a fusion of images from my practice in Sumi-e Ink painting and a long time passion for Japanese/ Chinese art.”
