Tethered to Dust
This work is a reflection on quiet resilience - the kind that doesn’t always roar, but endures. Inspired by the emotional landscapes we navigate in the aftermath of hardship, I used earthy tones, soft blushes, and deep grounding hues to explore the tension between fragility and strength. The abstract forms were built intuitively with acrylic paint, allowing layers to emerge and shift organically, mirroring how healing unfolds over time. Painting for me is a deeply personal process of release and reflection. The medium of acrylic gives me the flexibility to build and blend with immediacy, capturing raw, instinctive marks alongside more tender, deliberate gestures. This piece speaks to the idea that resilience isn’t always loud - it can be tender, fractured, and still beautiful. To me, ‘Still I Rise’ means carrying pain and softness together, and finding grace not in perfection, but in persistence.
