River Beneath

There’s a current beneath the surface, a shadow self moving just out of reach.

River Beneath speaks to that unseen presence—the shifting layers of identity that exist beyond what is immediately visible. The work reflects on how the self is shaped by what lies underneath, how memory, emotion, and subconscious energy carve quiet pathways, much like water tracing its way through stone.

Through layered mark-making and gestural movement, I explore the tension between what is revealed and what remains concealed. Color shifts and forms dissolve, creating a sense of fluidity that mirrors how we navigate between what we express and what we hold back. The river beneath is both grounding and ever-shifting—always present, yet never entirely within reach.
