Look Ye Also

The wonder of the world, the beauty and the power, the shapes of things, their colours, lights and shades, these I saw.

"Look ye also while life lasts." is a phrase by Children's book author Denys Watkins-Pitchford. Found among a page from one of many children's book pages I have recontextualised for art this year, this particularly speaks to the shadows looming around the planet right now, and the need to find beauty in the everyday, in nature, and in children.

In the midst of war and climate change, and terrifying political turmoil, it is easy to feel like we constantly walk with a shadow over us. This series of three re-contextualised story book pages reminds us to find the beauty of the everyday in amongst the turmoil.
