We so often define ourselves by the linear, the path, the perceived action. When we break, we use language like ‘I’m a mess,’ or ‘I’m falling apart.’ What if the growing occurs in the breaking? What if it’s the holding it together that is the stagnant source, and only once stripped emotionally bar, can we heal?

What if we stopped defining ourselves by our most difficult mental health experiences, and accepted they were an experience of who we are and not who we are? 

What if we became friends with our shadow?
