Day / Night / Day Again

This piece was made by combining black clay & porcelain, shaping it, and gently sanding back the top layer. The process is a little like peeling back layers of darkness, or shedding a layer of skin, to discover what hides beneath. It borrows its name from lyrics on Australian singer-songwriter Angie McMahon’s 2023 album, on grief, triumph, letting go and making it through.
