Bryan, I made it - this far

Bryan, my dad, had a tough, abusive childhood that led to a life of functional alcoholism. This view from a tiny black and white photo is of a time of peace in his life having escaped home and before entering into another long-term dysfunctional marriage relationship.

It's a view into his world as a son tries to make sense of him, his life and relationships.

The oil paint was applied with spirit medium as if it were a watercolour into brown linen used a base colour.
